The Yackley Group, along with the Miracle Mile Chamber of Commerce and the Wilshire Center BID, produced the fourth Wilshire Corridor Forum. This event brought together a wide variety of stakeholders from real estate developers to elected officials to community leaders, to examine how pending projects along the Corridor may impact the future use of Wilshire Boulevard. (Subway to the Sea, anyone?) The program examined transportation, sustainability and economic viability. Moderated panel discussions and presentations involved leading experts from local architecture firms, city planners, Metro executives, and local developers. Cal/Neva Annual Conference and Poverty Summit, “Charting the Course for Change”

National, state, and local leaders of the Community Action Partnership met to discuss the new opportunities and challenges included in the federal ARRA/Stimulus package. Speakers included Susan Yackley (Advocacy 101 - How to Talk to a Politician) who taught us how to build professional relationships with politicians in order to advocate for our causes. Susan hosted the reading produced in cooperation with the Imagination Workshop (www.imaginationworkshop.org) at 7:00pm in UCLA's NPI Auditorium, 720 Westwood Boulevard. Susan also moderated the discussion with the playwright, director and actors after the reading.

Wilshire Corridor Forum III "Are We Ready for the Subway?" brought together elected officials and civic leaders to discuss the transportation issues of the region. The Miracle Mile Chamber of Commerce hosted the luncheon event at the El Rey Theatre, and over 150 attendees listened to experts discuss problems and possible solutions surrounding public transportation, the potential subway extension, and traffic.
